Rajaram, a resident of Madhauli, the native village of Sandeep Singh, Minister of State for Finance, works in a milk dairy in Atrauli. Their 16-year-old son, Sumit Kumar, was a student in class IX at DKS School. Sumit had been missing since Friday morning.
The family had complained to the police, expressing doubts about Chandrapal, son of Vinod (20 years old), of the village itself. When the police brought Vinod to the police station and interrogated him, he confessed to the murder. Vinod told the police that he and Sumit were sitting near the kiln behind Raj Dhaba. Sumit refused to give up the mobile. There was a dispute between the two on this matter. In a fit of rage, he strangled Sumit to death with a rag, and threw the body into Surendra Kumar's well in the ruins near the kiln. COO Narendrai Saini said that on the behest of Vinod, the police recovered the body from the well and sent it for post-mortem in the early hours of Monday.
