Three miscreants arrested during encounter

Police on Wednesday arrested three alleged miscreants during an encounter in Noida in Gautam Budh Nagar district. A senior official gave this information.

He said that during the encounter, two of the accused were shot in the leg.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Rajnish Verma, said that on Wednesday morning, the police were checking vehicles near Noida Sector-33, when the suspects riding a motorcycle were seen coming.

He said that, on suspicion, the police signaled him to stop, but the accused started running away after firing at the police.

Verma said that the police also fired retaliatory bullets which hit the legs of two accused named Vinod and Bharat, while his third accomplice, Vijay, fled the spot. However, later, Vijay was also arrested.

He said that six gold chains, two country-made pistols, a Pulsar motorcycle used in the robbery, and a small electronic fork were recovered from the accused.

The arrested accused have admitted to carrying out several incidents of robbery in different areas of Noida, the official said.
